I don’t know about you, but I love finding the best travel deals. I have gotten some pretty crazy flight deals, but it also helps to find an inexpensive hotel. Besides Priceline Express Deals, one way I get my hotel for the best price is by to price match a hotel. Although many hotel brands will do this, I have status with Hilton and have always had the best luck getting a price match with them. With a little bit of research and luck, you can score some crazy good deals! So, let me show you how to price match a hotel with Hilton.

Hilton Price Match Guarantee
The Hilton Price Match Guarantee is as follows stated on the Hilton website: “If you find a lower qualified price on another booking site, we’ll match it and give you 25% off your stay. Submit your claim before you book or within 24 hours after you’ve made your reservation through an official Hilton booking channel.”
In other words, you can price match a hotel and then get an extra 25% off of that price. It is such a good deal if you can make it happen and I have seriously saved hundreds of dollars this way!
Step 1: Find the price lower on a different site
First, you need to find a price that is lower than on the Hilton website (or whichever hotel brand you are price matching). I always have the best luck in finding a rate on Priceline. You can also use many other travel sites such as Bookling, Agoda, Hotels.com, etc. In this case, I found the Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront hotel in Vienna for $109 on Priceline.
Upon closer inspection, I saw the refundable rate for a King Guest Room would be $119 before tax if booked on Priceline. I always take screenshots of everything for my records. Make sure to make note of the type of rate and room type because you will need it to price match a hotel.
Step 2: Book the Hotel Through Hilton
Next, go to the Hilton website and check the price of the hotel through there. In this case, on the Hilton website, the Hilton Vienna Danube Waterfront hotel in Vienna was $147 (€133) before tax.
Then, book the hotel through the Hilton website. Make sure to book the same type of rate and room type you found on the other website (in this case Priceline). All dates and the number of guests must also be the same. I also like to make sure it is refundable in case Hilton will not price match. In this case, I booked the Semi-Flex rate as it was the same 3 days before the arrival cancellation policy.
Once you get your confirmation email, move on to the next step to price match a hotel.
Step 3: Submit the Price Match Guarantee Form
Now, you can fill out the Hilton Price Match Guarantee form. You can find this online here. Once you fill out the form, you will usually find out within 24 hours if your Price Match was approved or not. This last time, it took about 4 hours to confirm my price match.
It looks like they recently added an option that you can price match a hotel without booking, so you can always try submitting that form prior to booking as well. This is useful if a rate is not refundable.
If you want an instant answer, you can also call up Hilton at 1-800-445- 8667 to have them Price Match it over the phone. To me, this just takes a lot longer since I have to sit on the phone with them.
TIP: If they do not Price Match it after submitting the online form, you can always try calling them after. I have also had them once Price Match for me through Twitter by sending them screenshots of the rates.
Tips For Getting a Price Match on a hotel
- Make sure to book a rate you can cancel just in case you can’t price match it.
- You need to make sure all of the following are the same or they will not price match it: Dates, number of guests, room type, cancellation policy.
- Make sure to review what qualifies for a Price Match!
- You can always try canceling the reservation and submitting a new claim.
- Another plus of price matching is that you now get a cheaper rate AND get to take advantage of any status you may have with the hotel chain.

Other Hotel Brands That Price Match
Although I have not had as good of luck or tried with all the other hotel brands, the following brands also have a Price Match Guarantee. All of them have similar terms and conditions to Hilton, such as submitting the Price Match within 24 hours of booking.
