Japan Airfare
After deciding on flexible dates, the first thing you will want to look for is airfare. There are quite a few routes that will get you to Tokyo from the United States. Since we live near Los Angeles, we flew direct from Los Angeles to Tokyo Haneda on American Airlines for 47,000 +$5.60 each. I booked via American Airlines.
The following are airlines you can use points to book flights to Tokyo Haneda.
- American Airlines
- United Airlines
- Delta Airlines
- Japan Airlines (using American Airlines Points)

Additionally, you could book flights to Tokyo Narita, which is a bit further from the city center.
- Japan Airlines (using American Airlines points)
- United Airlines
- Singapore Airlines (can transfer most major partners to Singapore)
- Zip Air (not on points but has cheaper cash rates)
To fly home, I booked Tokyo Narita to Los Angeles for 65,000 +$45 each. I booked this on Singapore Airlines through Singapore Kris Flyer. I transferred points from my American Express account to Singapore Kris Flyer.
Note that there are many other routes you can take if you live in other places in the United States or from Europe, but with this article, I am focusing on Los Angeles based flights. There are multiple combinations of flights I could have done, but this is what worked best for me and the dates I was there.

Tokyo Disney Hotels
Tokyo Disney Resort is located in the Tokyo Bay area of Tokyo. There are a ton of hotel options in the area, depending on what type of points you have. You can also pay cash to stay at the Disney Resort hotels if that is more of your vibe.
Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay
I opeted to book at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay. I had two free night certificates to use, so it was the best option for me. Otherwise, it would have cost 15,000 points a night. This hotel has a shuttle bus that takes you to Tokyo Disney a couple of times an hour. It is about a 20-minute drive. Due to my Globalist status, I got an upgraded room, free breakfast (an amazing breakfast buffet), and there was an evening cocktail hour each night in the Regency Club.

Other hotel options include the following.
- Hilton Tokyo Bay is an excellent choice if you have a lot of Hilton points and want to be right next to the park. This location has access to the Disneyland Monorail, where you can easily access either ot the parks. Rates start at 46,000 Hilton points a night.
- Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay: This is another great location to stay at when visiting Tokyo Disney using points if you want to be right next to the park. Points prices start at 50,000 Marriott points a night.
- Comfort Suites Tokyo Bay: This hotel can be booked using Choice points. It is a good option if you just want a basic hotel. It is located near the Hyatt Regency Tokyo Bay, so you will have to take a shuttle to get to the park. Points price run around 8,000 Choice points a night.
Alternatively, you could stay in central Tokyo, but the hotels are more expensive, and it would take longer to get to the resort.

Other Expenses to Keep in Mind
Admission Tickets
While you can’t exactly use points to buy your tickets, Tokyo Disney is one of the cheaper Disney Parks to visit, and there are a few tricks to racking up some points. Tickets typically run around $60-$70 per day. I recommend buying the tickets on Klook. Sometimes, Klook will code as travel, so it will give you more points depending on what card you use.
Transportation
You will need transportation to and from the airport. If you stay at the Hyatt Regency, the best option is the Airport Limousine bus because it drops off and picks up right in front of the hotel. This costs about $8 each way.
Alternatively, you can take a private transfer to and from the airport. This is your best option if your flight gets in very early, as the Airport Limousine does not start running until 8:30am. I recommend checking out the following airport transfers.
- Tokyo Haneda Airport Transfer
- Tokyo Haneda Airport Transfer
- Tokyo Narita Airport Transfer
- Tokyo Narita Airport Transfer

Food
Tokyo Disney is known for their delicious snacks and fun things to eat. We spent around $50 a day on snacks and food for the two of us. Our hotel also included a huge breakfast buffer and had light snacks at the happy hour.
