Cambodia is a fantastic Southeast Asian country filled with rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. Most well-known for the Angkor Wat temple complex and its ancient past, visitors will be able to take in the diverse landscapes and welcoming people. Visiting Cambodia using points can be pretty easy to do and will make for an amazing experience.

Cambodia Using Points
First, you will want to figure out how many days you want to spend in Cambodia using points. You could also pair it with another country. We opted to combine our Cambodia trip with Sri Lanka.
I would spend at least four days in Siem Reap, or longer if you want to visit other areas of the country. I booked this trip about 4 months ahead of time because I found great options for tickets. The more flexible you are, the better deal you can find.
Cambodia Airfare
After deciding on flexible dates, the first thing you will want to look for is airfare. There are quite a few routes that will get you to Cambodia. We flew from Sri Lanka to Cambodia, so I paid about $300 cash for that flight on Singapore Airlines. This flight would have cost 20,000 miles and $68 if I had used points. It had a short layover in Singapore.
To get home, I opted to also book through Singapore Airlines to Los Angeles. This flight cost 70,000 points and $69 a person. We had a long layover in Singapore where we were able to leave the airport for some food.
Other options to fly to Cambodia would be to check Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines booked through American Airlines, and ANA.
Cambodia Hotels
There are not a ton of chain hotels that you can book to visit Cambodia using points, but the options you do have are great!
Siem Reap
We opted to stay at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap. This cost 9,000 points a night during our time. However, since we visited, the price per night has gone up to 12,000-18,000 points a night. This is still a fantastic deal for this amazing resort.
The Park Hyatt Siem Reap was in the perfect location and had amazing service. It is part of the Hyatt hotels and if you are Globalist, you get free breakfast. As part of your stay, you get a free TukTuk ride around town to see the main sites. You can upgrade for $4 in order to make stops around town.
Another option for Siem Reap is the Courtyard Siem Reap Resort. This is part of the Marriott hotels and costs about 10,000 points a night. The downside of this hotel is it is located just outside of town, so it is not within walking distance of some of the main sites.
If you have Hilton points, you can book the Angkor Village Hotel, which is located near the Park Hyatt Siem Reap for about 25,000 points a night.
Phnom Penh
If you add in time in Phnom Penh, you have a few hotel options that you can book using points.
- Courtyard Phnom Penh: 13,200 points/night
- Fairfield Phnom Penh: 13,000 points/night
Phu Quoc
Phu Quoc is a popular beach and resort area in Cambodia. Here are some options you have there.
- Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc: 18,000 points/night
- Intercontinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort: 36,000 points/night
- Regent Phu Quoc: 65,000 points/night
Other Expenses to Keep in Mind
Although there are many options to visit Cambodia using points, there are still some expenses you will want to keep in mind.
Admission Tickets
Admission tickets will most likely be your biggest expense when it is springtime in Siem Reap. Angkor Wat tickets cost $37 for one day, $62 for three days, or $72 for seven days. It will cost you another $20 if you want a guide to take you around the complex.
Transportation
To get to Angkor Wat or some of the areas around Siem Reap, you will need to get a TukTuk. You can hire one for around $20 to take you around Angkor Wat. Between different parts of town, it will cost a couple of dollars a ride.
Food
Food in Cambodia is relatively inexpensive. Lunch and dinner were around $5 a person a meal. If you choose to eat inside the Angkor Wat area, the food there is a bit more expensive.
Visa
As a United States citizen, visitors will need a visa to enter Cambodia. You can get this online ahead of time for $36.

Final Thoughts on Cambodia
Visiting Cambodia using points makes for a fantastic vacation where you can see some amazing sites and have an awesome adventure. If you have time, add on places like Sri Lanka, Singapore, or Vietnam to a Cambodia trip.
