Staying at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives is one of the best decisions when looking for a luxury resort in the Maldives. Not only was I able to book my stay at this resort using points thanks to my travel credit cards, every last part of my experience here was amazing and I cannot wait to come back to visit.

Arrival at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
To get to the Hilton Amingiri Maldives you will need to fly into the Male, Maldives airport. This is the main airport for the Maldives. From here visitors can take seaplanes or speedboats to the various other islands.
Upon arrival in Male, a representative from the Hilton Amingiri Maldives will be waiting after baggage claim to greet you. You will check in with them and they will take care of your baggage from there. The next time you see your bags will be in your room at the resort!
To get to the Hilton Amingiri Maldives, you will take a 20-minute speedboat ride. After checking in, you will be brought to a waiting area until the speedboat is ready for departure. The speedboat is air-conditioned and there is water available to enjoy on your scenic ride to the resort.
After about 20 minutes, the Hilton Amingiri Maldives staff will be waiting to greet you at the loading dock (White Lotus vibes anyone?). You will then be led to the lobby reception area where your GEM (Guest Experience Manager) will be ready to greet you and check you in.
While sipping on a delicious local tea, your GEM will explain all about the resort and any information you may need. Your GEM is available for you to text at any time to make any reservations for meals, activities, and any other needs or questions you may have. I recommend downloading WhatAPP before you leave as that is what you will use to communicate through.
Once you are all checked in, you will then get a tour of the island via a golf cart before being dropped off at your room.
Hilton Amingiri Maldives Rooms
The Hilton Amingiri Maldives had two different types of rooms: A Beach Villa or an Overwater Pool Villa. All rooms are very spacious and come with a private pool and patio. They also have a huge bathroom, bedroom, and outdoor shower.
With the beach villa, visitors have a direct view and access to the beach. At the overwater pool villas, visitors have direct access to the ocean via a ladder next to their pool. We opted to stay in an overwater pool villa and I felt it was very secluded and private.
Where to Eat at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
The Hilton Amingiri Maldives has 5 delicious places to get food throughout your stay.
The main restaurant, Habitat, is open all day for all meals. It has an amazing buffet breakfast that you will get for free if you are a Hilton Gold or Diamond member. They also have an extensive lunch and dinner menu. Every single thing I had here was delicious and I still dream of the breakfast buffet.
Probably the most popular option for dinner is the Beach Shack. This restaurant is right on the beach and serves grilled meats and fish. It was probably the best meal I had while at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives. It is the most popular restaurant, so you will need to make reservations at least one day before.
Origin is a seafood-only restaurant. While I did not try this out since I do not eat seafood, my husband was drooling over the options.
Aura is located next to the main pool of the resort. It is open for lunch and tapas but serves beverages all day long. It is the perfect place to hang out during the day.
Outside of Aura, there are two other bars at the resort: Eden and Sip.
Eden has a 20% off happy hours every day from 5:30pm-7:30pm during golden hour. This bar has a ton of gin and champagne drinks and is only open in the evenings. No reservations are required.
Sip is both a bar and a tea house. Each day they do a high tea from 4pm-5:30pm and also have a Hilton Honors member happy hour from 3-4pm each day. At the happy hour, it is all you can drink for that time.
For lunch and dinner at most of the restaurants, your GEM will need to make you a reservation.
The resort also has 24-hour room service. I recommend this option if you are trying to save some money as you can easily split many of the entrees for dinner. It is also convenient to eat in your villa taking in the gorgeous views.
Included Amenities at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
While most people come to the Maldives to disconnect and relax, the resort still has a ton of included amenities to keep visitors entertained throughout the day. The Hilton Amingri Maldives does not really have a party vibe but is more of a chill and slow-moving place. When we were there, the resort was at 50% capacity and felt deserted, especially early in the morning.
Each morning and evening there is complementary yoga next to the fitness center. Each session lasts about 30-40 minutes. Your GEM can make you a reservation as space is limited. There is also a fitness center open for most of the day.
At the beach recreation center, visitors get a complimentary 1-hour paddleboard or kayak rental a day. There is a lagoon in front of the rec center you can paddle around in. The dive center has snorkel equipment (mask, fins, snorkel, lifejacket) you can check out for the duration of your stay.
Each villa comes with bikes that you can ride everywhere on the island. This is the quickest and easiest way to get around and there is bike parking at every location on the island.
For guests with kids, there is a kids club that offers different activities for kids of all ages and a special hang-out area as well.
Paid Experiences at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
Outside of the included experiences at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives, there are also extra activities you can pay for, including a ton of water sports, water excursions, and spa treatments.
Sub Oceanic at the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
The number one paid experience I recommend when visiting the Hilton Amingiri Maldives is going on a snorkel trip with Sub Oceanic. Sub Oceanic runs a ton of different water sports excursions such as diving trips, fishing, snorkeling, and more.
We opted to take their day snorkel tour for $95. I would 100% recommend this excursion if you are into snorkeling and want to see the sea life of the Maldives. This tour included about 1 hour in the water plus a 10-15 minute speedboat ride each way to the reef.
I really enjoyed that this was a small group tour. In total, we had 8 people plus a guide and a boat driver. I felt this ensured we saw a lot of sea life as there were not too many people who scared the fish away.
We say plenty of fish, including a 6-foot nurse shark, a black-fin shark, a giant pufferfish, a giant starfish, sea cucumber, and a ton of other colorful fish. It was easily one of the top snorkel places I’ve been to. (Not that the Great Barrier Reef and Maui aren’t amazing too).
Next time I visit, I want to do the night snorkel or the beginning scuba dive.
Water Sports
Outside of the included kayaking and paddleboarding, the sports lagoon has many other watersports to partake in for a cost. This includes wakeboarding, jetskiing, tubing, parasailing, and more. You can find a complete list of activities and prices here.
The Hilton Spa
Another relaxing paid option is the Hilton Spa. Here visitors can choose from a variety of spa treatments from a Hammam experience to facials, massages, or sun treatments. As a Hilton Diamond member, you get a complimentary 30-minute treatment with the purchase of a 60-minute treatment. This is definitely a 5-star spa experience, so you will not be sorry with whatever option you choose.
As part of the spa, they also have a small wellness cafe that serves smoothies and other healthy light bites to eat. With your treatment, you get an included tea to drink and time to relax on the wellness patio.
Cost of Visiting the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
Even when visiting the Maldives using points, the amount you spend can quickly add up. For each person visiting the resort, you must pay a mandatory speedboat transfer fee. This comes out to about $370/person after taxes and fees.
Anything bought at the resort -this includes food, souvenirs, tours, etc, has a 16% tax plus a 10% service charge on top of the listed price. Note that the service charge is the tip, so there is no need to add an additional tip.
Final Thoughts on the Hilton Amingiri Maldives
Visiting the Hilton Amingiri Maldives is definitely a trek to get to, but it is well worth the luxury experience. The Maldives is easy to pair with a visit to Singapore, India, or Qatar.
